  In diesem Seminar können Sie Tricks lernen, wie Sie die für tschechische Muttersprachler schwierigen phonetischen Phänomene der deutschen Phonetik bewusst machen und üben können. Sie kennen Aktivitäten lernen, mit denen Sie nicht nur einzelne Aussprachebesonderheiten, sondern auch die richtige Akzentuierung und die Satzmelodie trainieren können. Im letzten Teil des Seminars trainieren wir unsere Ohren und üben die richtigen Vokallängen und Akzente nachzuahmen. Wir entdecken auch Möglichkeiten, wie Sie selbstständig weiterarbeiten können.

• Advanced Games & Activities

  Making Grammar Activities more Communicative and Effective

  The focus will be on 5- and 10-minute activities for B2-C1 levels and their usage in terms of effective grammar teaching including practical demonstrations and discussion of individual games and activities for each stage of a grammar lesson: Modelling, Eliciting and Practicing Grammar.

  Communicative Vocabulary Activities for Advanced Students

  Introduction of activities and games for teaching vocabulary, including innovative ice-breakers and fun fillers as well as activities for either introducing or practicing vocabulary in a conversational mode throughout the whole lesson.

  Advanced Speaking and Listening Activities

  A mix of communicative B2-C1 level activities and games useful within conversation lessons or to add natural fluency tasks within a classic textbook-based lesson. The tasks are intended to be communicative but also to introduce or use a clear target language while requiring students to work within frameworks to exchange information and opinions.

  CAE: Writing 1 – Overview, Corrections and Feedback

  An overview of the writing test, including the parts, assessment criteria and examples of well-written (pass) test papers. In addition, we will deal with correcting and assessing students' work in pairs and as a group.

  CAE: Writing 2 – Writing paper

  Activities to prepare students for the writing paper, focusing especially on reports and essays. We will focus on modelling the tasks for the students and getting them to notice and analyze the language and structures used, ensuring that the students understand how to manage the content, organization, register and language features necessary for a pass mark. Additionally, we will explore activities for practicing the target language and the task itself. The activities have been chosen to complement those in the FCE writing seminar, which focuses primarily on emails and letters.

  CAE: Speaking part

  A session on the speaking paper, combining a quick overview of the particular parts and their criterion, together with the fun and useful classroom activities for students; preparation for the speaking part of the CAE exam.

  Using Pictures in the Classroom 

  Activities using pictures for everyday grammar and vocabulary lessons. The activities are intended variously as warmers, conversation-starters as well as for modelling, introducing or practicing either vocabulary or grammar. Many of them have been chosen for their adaptability and we will discuss how to use similar games and activities for different target language.

  Articles Made Easy

  Believe it or not, past participants requested this lecture on a tricky part of English Grammar, breaking it down to 3 basic rules with plenty of examples and activities meant to test and reinforce your understanding of those rules. You may still not like articles after this, but they should be a little clearer.

  Five and Ten Minute Activities

  More activities to make everyday grammar lessons more engaging and effective. The activities are intended variously as warmers, modelling the target grammar, or activities both for controlled and fluency practice. We will look at sets of activities for difficult to teach areas of grammar such as the different usages of present perfect or relative clauses, with an emphasis on how communicative tasks can be added to or used instead of classic textbook presentation to make the grammar come alive.
